Carolyn Morton | March - August 2020
During the Spring and Summer Carolyn will explore the ecology of Birmingham’s towpaths through making botanical inks. Using plant species found along the towpath and her mobile ink studio, she will consider how our wellbeing connects to ecological biodiversity.
Botanical inks are made by extracting the colour from plants, soil and rocks. Unlike industrial inks, they are impermanent and unstable, changing in response to light, heat and time.
Join Carolyn for a workshop along the towpath and learn how to make and use botanical inks whilst considering other species and our part in restoring ecological balance.
