Participate is a programme led by A3 studio members who will deliver 3 projects to support creative practitioners in the West Midlands and 3 projects to engage local communities, supported through Arts Council England funding.
The programme will culminate in with a public event and a publication 26 September 2020 that will explore the outcomes of each artists’ engagement and share A3 Project Space's strategy to implement a sustainable programme of public engagement that is both locally and internationally accessible.
Project Planning for Artists, Trevor Pitt
Support for creative practitioners in planning an art project and writing a funding application via workshops and 1-2-1 sessions.
MXBodySpaceMotioningThem, Cathy Wade
Womxn (in all senses of identification and affiliation) are invited to develop work collectively that investigates queer methods for inhabiting, exploring and making a response to the spaces they walk through.
Laser Cutting for Artists, Juneau Projects
Workshops for makers and creatives to explore laser cutting as a means of developing ideas and objects.
Still Waters, Gavin Rogers
Exploring fishing and well-being along the canals working with moving image, water and local fishermen to share practices, stories and skills.
Queer Song Lab, Adam Carver
A peer-to-peer workshopping platform for queer songwriters, lyrcists, musicians, and soundartists to come together, experiment with songwriting, and foster community through musicmaking.
Ink Flows, Carolyn Morton
Eco-ink workshops using plant species found along the towpath to consider how our wellbeing connects to restoring ecological balance.
